Welcome Aboard!

Worcester (CL-144) Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps was founded in 1998 at the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, and has been in continuous operation since that time. At the Worcester Division, it is our goal to instill patriotism, honor, courage, and commitment in the cadets. In our ten years of operation, graduating cadets have attended the following colleges:

• United States Naval Academy
• United States Military Academy
• Saint Anselm College
• Georgetown University
• The Citadel
• The College of the Holy Cross
• Worcester Polytechnic Institute
• Suffolk University
• University of Florida
• Norwich University
• Rutgers
• University of South Carolina
• Daniel Webster College
• Worcester State University
Several cadets have also enlisted in the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard.

Our alumni tell us that it is through the hard work they performed and the discipline which they learned with us that they were able to succeed in their chosen path. We take learning and training very seriously at Worcester Division and that is reflected in the attention to detail, discipline, and academic excellence we find in our cadets. The training is not easy, but pushes the cadets to their limits and allows them to feel pride in all the things they can accomplish when they put their minds to it and set their hearts on it.

At the Worcester Division, we train year round on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. Most of our training is geared toward preparing our cadets for Two Week Trainings which mostly occur in the summer, but also can take place over other school breaks. These training periods allow cadets to experience, to some degree, what life in the military is like, as well as gain valuable hands-on training alongside Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps personnel. Before being able to attend specialized trainings, cadets must first complete Sea Cadet Recruit Training, which is a two week long evolution designed to teach them basic seamanship knowledge, firefighting skills, military customs and courtesies, and a wide range of other topics which prepare them for more challenging trainings in specialized fields including, but not limited to: aviation, medical, submarines, seamanship, SEAL/Special Warfare, Leadership, and Master-at-Arms.

Cadets are broken up into two separate categories. Sea Cadets are ages 14 to 18 and League Cadets are ages 11 to 13. League Cadets have a separate training curriculum and summer training session to prepare them to become Sea Cadets.
