LT Scott A. Laplante, NSCC
Worcester (CL 144) Division
Lieutenant Scott Laplante is a native of Worcester, Massachusetts. He has been with the Worcester (CL 144) Division since its founding in 1998 and has served as the Commanding Officer since 2004. He served 23 years in the United States Navy retiring at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer in 2006. His assignments included sea tours on board USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) and USS Mobile Bay (CG 53). He spent 18 years assigned to Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center Worcester, MA serving with several operations units. At the time of his retirement, he was the Senior Enlisted Adviser for the Center. His reserve units included SIMA Newport, RI, Naval Control of Shipping Organization, Advanced Base Functional Command, Afloat Training Group Mayport, FL, Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, and Commander Pacific Fleet. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, NRC Class 02.
Lieutenant Laplante’s military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), the Meritorious Unit Commendation (3 awards), the Good Conduct Medal, the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (3 awards), the National Defense Service Medal, The Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, the Navy Overseas Service Ribbon, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Sharpshooter Rifle Ribbon, and the Marksman Pistol Ribbon.
